Happy Birthday Tammy!
Sep. 25th, 2006 08:45 amToday is my wife's birthday.
My wife is very much the most important person in my life these days, and I'm very grateful to have her with me. When things are going well, we get along fine, but more telling, when things aren't going well - like right now - we still get along fine, working together to get things done. With us having to spend a significant fraction of our spare time dealing with Trixii's house right now, she's not complaining anymore than I am. Heck, since she's working part time, she's doing more on the house than I am, going by during the week to paint the rooms. (Trixii was a decent enough friend, but some of her color choices left something to be desired...)
I love her very much, and I'm hoping she's having a good day today.
That said, a sad note today: John M. Ford has died. I first encountered his work via the Star Trek book 'How Much for Just the Planet', which turned what would have been a more or less standard plot (Resource X is discovered on a planet, both the Klingons and the Federation want it) into a musical comedy. If you've got a moment, stop and look for one of his books and put it in your reading stack - he really was a good writer, I think.
