Conventions...

jcfialaWell, it's August, and this is the time when people tend to think of conventions... because Denver has three conventions between September and October, this is usually a time when I'm pretty busy getting ready for Tacticon, Nan Desu Kan, and looking forward to MileHighCon. (Which I'm definately doing.)
Of course, I'm also busy thinking and working on the house we've suddenly become responsible for, and then there's my Mom visiting Denver soon.
And then new news! Apparently Denver has won the right to host the World Science Fiction Convention during the first weekend of August in 2008. Wow! That's going to be really big and interesting - I can't wait! And I'll probably try to help, if they'll have me. ^_^
Denver really is an amazingly active town. I suspect it's the isolation from other nearby cities - we wouldn't need to have three gaming conventions if it didn't take a day of driving to reach any other ones...
