Successful Weekend
Feb. 6th, 2006 09:47 amI hear that Pittsburgh may be off the grid today because of the Superbowl. That's cool - Pittsburgh is a fun city when the sports teams are doing well. I just wish 'John Fiala' was still playing for the Steelers - how could would it have been to have someone with the same name up as a Superbowl winner?
A full review will go up on my fiala_tech livejournal in a week or so, but in short 'Professional DotNetNuke ASP.NET Portals' has really impressed me with it's documentation on how DotNetNuke hangs together and works. I've been working on a Booklist module to teach myself the ropes, and I'm very happy with how everything hangs together. It's good stuff, even if you're not a techie.
And it's going to make me some money, too. I'm working with a friend on getting some contracts for a little consulting work on the side, and he's coming up with a lot of possible jobs. I'm definately going to be able to afford to do a little more fun and work travel this year with the money this all brings in. :)
And finally, I got my yearly review last Friday, and got a Raise! How cool is that? :)
So, happy John
