I sold the comix...

Well, I finally got rid of the final seven longboxes of comics that I had decided to get rid of - I think this makes a total of 14 boxes that I sold off. I've still got four left. (I originally typed eight, but it was only four.)

I'm thinking I might do little reviews of them as I gather them together and give my thoughts on them. You've been warned. :)

Edit: Amusing note: I mentioned that I had sold off fourteen boxes of comics, and Rose suggested that it was 'Creeping Adulthood'. (Actually, she said 'Creeping Adulthood to Maya, who then tried to ask me what it was. I could understand her, as she was asking me with a cookie in her mouth.) I replied that I was selling the comics off so I had room to work on my legos. :)

Well, it's have got. Bunches of graphic novels. A D&D book called 'frostburn' about adventuring in cold climate. Three action figures (chosen by Tammy). Some boosters of the new Call of Cthulhu card game. The last two issues of 'Girl Genius' by Phil Foglio. More graphic novels.

I actually mistyped - I have four boxes left. Four is much more reasonable - I can sort through them quickly, get things in reading order, and enjoy. I've already been able to read through 'Buck Godot: Zap Gun for Hire', the eight issues series they did, and now I'm reading my way through 'The Hacker Files' an early 1990's DC comic about real life hackers. There's interface with the DC superhero universe (Not sure if this was too early to join in on Vertigo), but the basics of the plot are pretty solid. It's good stuff, but with 10 issues spread randomly between 18 boxes of books, it was impossible to read the story.

It's a little annoying - the selection of graphic novels at the big store is random and not very good. Plus, the small Manga are almost impossible to see, stuck in a glass case. But the store at Wadsworth and 1st is cleaner, nicer, and easier to browse in, plus a better selection. After the second trip up there I wouldn't have gone back, only that's the only store that will buy comics.
