Well, other than the robbery, this has been a pretty good weekend. I was at Genghis con, the biggest of the three local denver gaming conventions, and other than worrying that someone was going to break in and steal the rest of my stuff, it went pretty well.

Thursday I ran an overly-deadly Living Greyhawk module called 'Oath of the Brotherhood', which went well other than the fact that the writer made the opposition entirely too powerful. Friday was a bit of a wash, but was helped by a wonderful RPGA Call of Cthulhu adventure named 'House by the Sea'. This is a really high-class adventure, and we all had a great time playing it.

Saturday was another judging day - in the morning I ran a demo of 'Cartoon Action Hour', which is based on various 80's Saturday morning cartoons, such as He man, Transformers, or Thundarr the Barbarian. In the evening I ran a Feng Shui adventure I had constructed over the last week, which went very, very well. I'm planning on running a sequel next year.

And finally I had Sunday - two Living Greyhawk games that went so well that I 'won' both tables - a good ending to a weekend that started so badly.

And now, I need a nap.

Pardon me, but...

...what on earth is a 'Feng Shui adventure?'

DM: roll your dex.
Player: 15. Plus my chi modifier...makes it 17.
DM: you have sucessfully placed the small pink-flowered bonsai in the northwest corner of the room!

But that can't be right.

Why not?

Ah, but little do you know that there's a mirror hidden behind the chair in the corner - your flower placement has now poisoned the room!

Feng Shui is the name of Robin Laws' Roleplaying Game of Hong Kong Action Movies. It's a fantastic game - stripping action movies down and showing how they're built, and how to enjoy them. It's a game where someone can kick a mook in the face while flipping onto a handrail and then jumping to grab a rapelling line... which is something that was done in my game. It's a lot of fun.

Sounds like you had a blast. I've played Call of Cthulu once before, sort of a pick up game one halloween. Good stuff.

Gaming is FUN. Another thing to make me all hyper about winning the bid on those Star Wars RPG books.

So ... Feng Shui ... is that a system I'm not exposed to, or is it one of the ones where the Game Master creates something from scratch? Me wants more info!

And on that note, I have a two year old who has stripped naked, I must go...

It's probably a system you haven't been exposed to. It was first published around 1995, but the publisher went out of press. These days Atlas games publishes it, and does a darn fine job of it.
