Okay - 2006, best year ever!

Yesterday/Today, LEGO has announced that they will release a new version of their LEGO robotics system, titled Mindstorms NXT. There's a press release about it on their site here, and Wired has a story about it as well here.

Ultrasonic sensors, sound sensors, a rotation sensor that works, a better touch and light sensor... and the whole thing looks pretty darn nifty as well. It uses Bluetooth and USB to talk to your computer, and you can even program it to take commands from a bluetooth phone or camera phone.

I am having a geekgasm, and have since last night when I heard about it. Weee! I can't wait until August.

I won't be impressed until you can build a fully functional toaster with them.

I want to LEGO my Eggo.

You'll need some insulating ceramic bricks, then. LEGO melts at caramelizing temperature.
