Hey all.
Well, that wasn't too painful, I guess. The first week of job-searching is over, and my emotions continue to swing from optimistic to pessimistic. It helps that my family's getting involved in the search as well, although I suspect that's in hope that they'll find me a perfect job in Maryland, which would make me move back home.
Maryland's not bad - but it's not Denver. I really do like living here, and I'd like to continue living here.
Last night I went to a class on XML run by the .Net User's Group in town. I'd signed up a while ago, but given that CSS wasn't using .Net, I wasn't in a hurry to give up a few evenings to work-related subjects. Now that I'm unemployed, the extra experience sounds good. At first it was pretty basic, but the gentleman giving the talk started talking about Serialization, which is fantastic - a way to turn Visual Basic objects into XML files and vice-versa. I think I might revitalize my Car Wars vehicle builder project - it would give me a good test project for playing with.
Last night I also went and saw 'Love Actually', which was really a sweet romantic movie. I really recommend it if you like sweet romantic movies. If you don't, then you're not going to like this one, I think.
I hope things are going well for everyone - short 'work' week coming up, with thanksgiving!
