Jan. 31st, 2007 07:59 amSo, due to some shakeups in my ongoing Tuesday night group, someone else had to take the reigns as DM. Jason had been running for a while, but wanted to take a break, and neither Amy or Clint wanted to run, so (as I somewhat expected) it has passed on to me to figure out a game to run.
The only real restriction was that Jason wanted to play D&D - he hadn't played a character since he'd started his campaign with us, and although we had taken a break earlier, it'd been Cthulhu D20 and hadn't scratched his itch.
So, D&D was wanted. My desire was to run something out of a book - I'm already running a D&D campaign, re-doing the 'Against the Giants' campaign for another group, and I don't want to burn out by trying to do too much. So after looking into some options, we all decided on the Shackled City mega-module.
It's a nice looking book - I've started looking through a friend's copy for preparation while my copy wends it's way from ebay. It's got a strong-sounding plotline set up, with a number of differing-power bad-guys, a good city setting with reasons to have close by dungeons, social conflict, and a good reason why any existing adventurers haven't started cleaning up the problems at hand.
I'm looking forward to it.
