Not a party person
Feb. 6th, 2005 06:36 pmI'm not, really, a party person. I was never invited to terribly many in high school and college, and the few I did attend in High School were thanks to a seriously uncliquish senior class that saw no reason to exclude me from events just because I was an overweight geek with no social skills.
So, it's a bit of a surprise when I get the impulse to host a party, and even more of a surprise when people show up unexpectedly... and it's really a surprise when it's such a success as the one last night was. Tammy and I volunteered to run the January Alternate party for DASFA late, as I didn't think I'd be in town this week. That lead to us deciding on a whim to do a fondue-based party. We expected, oh, maybe 5 people... and ended up with maybe twelve, hanging out, talking, and eating the food until they headed out around 10:30. A little while spent cleaning up (and some time spent during the party), and today the house is in pretty good shape.
So - surprise, the party went off without problems, went well, and all that. For all that I'm still an overweight geek with no social skills. :)
