40 down... 140 to go?
Mar. 6th, 2003 08:22 pmGood news on the Weight Watchers front. After only losing 8/10ths of a pound last week, this week I managed to lose 4.4 pounds entire! This puts me at 39.8, which is close enough to 40 pounds that I'm just calling it that. This is great! One of my goals when I started the program was to get to 10% in four months - I've done it in three.
10%, in Weight Watchers terms, means losing ten percent of your starting weight. That was 36.1 pounds for myself. It's a big milestone for the program, as you're supposed to see obvious physical and health improvements when you hit it. I definately have seen it - I think I'm using four or five fewer inches on my belt now.
It's true that I'm trying to lose about 180 pounds, but having reached 40 in three months means that I may finish by the end of the year. I don't expect it to, really, but any progress is a success.
I feel good.
I feel better than James Brown.
How do you feel?

Date: 2003-03-07 06:19 am (UTC)As it stands, the basics of the program comes down to 'eat at least five servings of fruits/vegies a day', 'have two servings of milk/calcium a day', 'drink at least six 8 oz glasses of water a day', and 'eat this range of calories per day, as represented by points'. Points are actually a combination of calories, fat, and fiber, and the number of them you get per day varies upon your weight.
But yeah, if you've got specific nutritional needs, you should definately talk to an expert.
