Hi all.

Yesterday was a lot of work. Tammy and I had volenteered to hold the Denver Area Science Fiction Association (DASFA) alternate party, and the house needed severe attention. So as soon as we got back from breakfast, we set to and really did a marvelous job on the house. (Indeed, I suspect Tammy may have done most of the work. I got tired out halfway through and went for a nap.) And it is marvelous - it looks a lot better.

DASFA's an interesting group. Each month two parties are held - one after the meeting, and one on the first saturday of the month. I'm not entirely sure why there are two parties - it's tradition, of course, but apparently at some time in the past the club was a lot more active, party-wise.

The party went well, too. With our last-minute agreement to host the party I wasn't sure anyone would be showing up, but as it happens we got seven people showing up, which worked nicely. The vegetable platter was almost picked clean, and various leftovers won't be onerous to eat. The star of the party was Tammy's Split Pea soup, which just about every guest happily accepted a bowl of as they entered. It was snowing last night, and it's always a joy to walk into a warm house and have a bowl of soup handed to you. And there's leftovers, so we can enjoy it later. Tammy got the recipie out of a Weight Watchers cookbook, not that anybody minded.

I'm really enjoying having a campaign of my own again. It's tiring having two games two days in a row, but it's just so much fun now that I've got it started. And I've got ten or fifteen years worth of Call of Cthulhu senarios, so it's not like I'm going to have to even make anything new up unless I really need to.

But with this, I'm starting to think of other games I'd like to run. I got an inexpensive copy of Witchcraft at the con, which would be fun to play. I've got a half-dozen or more pulp-based games that might be fun, and I'm getting the itch to run some sort of superhero game as well.

Of course, I can't run five or six campaigns at once - Tammy would kill me. But I think I'll keep an eye open for opportunities to play other games.

Speaking of superhero games, I got the more-than-welcome news last week that my adventure Emergency Response for Silver Age Sentinels is back from the printer. Guardians has promised to mail me my five copies soon, and if it wasn't Sunday I'd be waiting on the front porch to meet the mailman. This is so cool...
