Date: 2012-12-17 08:33 pm (UTC)The point of the article is really that it would do you NO GOOD to shove it in your younger self's face. As he points out, we have great defense mechanisms to prevent that from working. I know it sure wouldn't have worked on ME back then.
Heck, it doesn't really work on me NOW.

Date: 2012-12-17 08:57 pm (UTC)I might not do anything if I saw this 23 years ago, but it would at least introduce concepts to me that, later on, I could finally realize. Happily a lot of this has already worked it's way into me - I've got a great job, I've got a lovely wife, a fantastic kid, and life's pretty wonderful. I've also been lucky, but there's a certain amount of being willing to see a lucky thing and grab it. :)
