So, some stuff's been going on, and I've forgotten to update.

  • For one, I had a neat database consulting gig that I did after work a few times a week for what ended up being a month. It involved a contact/customer database system called Goldmine, having to do with an upgrade from their old dbase version to SQL server that had failed. I got to learn a lot of interesting things about reading data from dbase, and next month I'll get to kill off one of my old debts with the payment. Yay me!

  • I went out to Baltimore to watch my Mom and Dad renew their vows on their 40th anniversary, and then we had a big party. Funniest thing was my Mom interrupting the minister when he said it was their 50th anniersary, followed by my Mom almost knocking over an expensive-looking display of wineglasses and wine at the end of the party, where she was _so_ drunk. Drunk parents - when they're sensible about it and not driving - are so funny.

  • We're dangerously close to maybe having a handle on the whole Trixii's house thing. I'm all tingly with pent-up worry.

  • Speaking of the house, we had her old paperback bookcases moved over to our house, and over the last couple of weeks we've been really working hard on putting them in place. They'd originally belonged to a used book store (which went out of business), and they're exactly the right size for most paperbacks... as well as DVDs and VCR tapes. This has lead to us being able to consolidate our video collection in one place, as well as allowing us to seriously neaten up a lot of books. The works not all done, but it's a big improvement.

  • Last night Max - who's our declawed on the front Maine Coon cat - came in when we were going to bed with a bird in his mouth. I don't know how he managed to catch one, but Tammy thinks Jingoro - our orange mutt cat - caught it and Max took it away from him. You wouldn't think cats would respect their elders, would you? Anyway, we chucked him back outside, since he certainly wasn't going to let go of his bird, and he's got a bad habit of throwing up when he eats anything other than cat food.

  • And I'm playing Wow. I'm up to 37 on my main character, which is cool, but started up a Tauren Druid a couple of nights ago with some folks from rpg.net - which is fun, because as a signing bonus with the guild they sent me a bunch of huge bags. Glee!

I think that's about it.
