Playing Hooky
Jul. 29th, 2002 12:56 pmWell, Saturday was spent playing Living Greyhawk. That went very well - I ran an adventure appropriately titled 'Swamp Things' twice, and then was released to play the oddly named 'Future's Bright'. I got my wife in the first group I judged, and then was able to join her for the third adventure, so we even got to see each other a fair bit. In fact, it's more than we usually see each other during a game event - usually she goes off to play board games and I'm playing rpgs all day. Turning my wife on to playing LG is becoming more of a good idea the more it happens.
Unfortunately, she's still three hundred experience points short of third level. However, that's awfully good for only having played five adventures.
Sunday we all slept in late, and planned to do house work. However, I was suddenly reminded by a friend that he was going to come over and buy my old computer. So we went and got him, moved some last minute things off of my old computer, and let him install Windows 2000 on my old box. I'd almost deleted everything without rescuing my palm programs, but luckily I"ve got them all now. Now if I can just find that registration code for QED.
This morning, my wife decided to call in sick. She had an interview with a company she suspects is a temp agency, but she's willing to go through with that just for getting into the habit of doing interviews. She's still got a job currently, but between them cutting her pay by two dollars an hour and the general souring of the work environment, she's not interested in staying there much longer. Anyone in the Denver area looking for someone who is good at technical support over the phone should send me an email.
So, I decided to do the same. I get two 'personal' days each year, and hadn't touched either one yet. So I called in and said I wasn't coming in. I liked these personal days - I can get an extra day off without having to try my limited acting skills. :)
And so how am I spending my lazy day off? By mowing the lawn, avoiding yellowjackets, and spending a lot of time crouched down clipping weeds. Maybe I need to rethink this 'day off' business!
I hope you're all doing well.
