Aug. 9th, 2003 09:26 amHaven't posted recently, have I?
Well, that's my fault. Wednesday night I was up late talking to friends online... and later... and it was finally after 3:30 am when I dragged my sorry ass into bed. Given that I get up at 6:30, that was far too little sleep for me the next day. Thursday was a day of drinking caffinated diet drinks to keep me awake, and then by the time I'd done some shopping and come home, it was all I could do to make sure I was in bed when I passed out.
Friday was better. I spent the time finishing up some things I hadn't gotten done Thursday, and then startted chatting with someone on the Piper Mailing list - looks like we might be friends. He's into rpgs and Manly Wade Wellman, and that's enough to sit down and start chatting about. He lives up in Wyoming, but occasionally comes to the Denver area for this and that. The Piper mailing list is for fans of 1950's SF writer H. Beam Piper. He wrote a lot of good stories, although some of them are trapped in the technical assumptions of the time. He's best known for his 'Little Fuzzy' novels, the first one of which is titled 'Little Fuzzy'. I like 'em all.
And then Friday night Tammy, Trixii and I went to go see 'Seabuscuit'... or however that's spelled. Nice movie - I liked how they would cut away to describe how the whole country was doing, instead of only concentrating on the main characters.
