Which is to say not that things change in Vegas (although I doubt it will as long as it's profitable), but that you no longer need bring your change to Vegas. Because the slot machines don't use it anymore.

It was a little jarring to realize. The slot machines don't spit out coins anymore, and they don't take coins, anywhere we went. Instead, when you've decided you've won (or lost) as much as you're willing to, you hit a button and a ticket with a barcode gets printed out. You can slide this ticket into any of many machines sitting around that are combination ATM/Credit Card withdrawl/Bill splitter/Ticket cashing in machines. No longer do you grab the plastic sub and scoop up the nickel, quarter, or dollar coins up; walk over to the human at the change booth, and have them count it for you and give you bills - instead you take the ticket over to a machine and money is spit out at you.

And if you just want to play a different game - no problem - the slot/video poker machines are ticket readers as well- they suck in your ticket and credit you for the difference.

It's a little sad, really. Even if you were having a bad day at the slots before, you could have it spit out the coins you were owed before and it would at least look like a pile of coins you could think looked like a bunch of money. But now it's just a piece of paper that looks like exactly how much money it is - no more and no less. Heck, you no longer get to listen to the music of coins hitting the tray. Oh, there's a recording of coins that plays while the ticket prints, but it's not the same.
