Another reason to buy used cars...
Nov. 3rd, 2005 06:45 pmWell, I left work today and worked my way over to the Greyhound station next door, which has a small parking garage over the building. I get a free space there as part of my job, and so far I haven't had any problems with it. (Indeed, they didn't even give me a ticket when I was about a day and a half late on switching to the new parking tag.)
And I was approached by a poor woman who had had her car broken into. The thieves were unsuccessful at taking her car, but they helped themselves to the stereo, and the car was undriveable. She needed to use my phone, and naturally I let her. Ugh. A nice looking car, looked fairly new and very sleek. Well, other than where they'd broken back part of the door to get in.
My car was untouched, even though it's had a nice laptop computer in the back of it. It's from, I think, 1998 or so, and looks old. (This is partially because I keep forgetting to have it washed.) Yay Camry.
