The first one out of the gate

Hello there.

My name is John Fiala, and I live in Denver, Colorado. My interests include role playing games, anime, writing, and such. It's been a while since I signed up for this journal, but I'd forgotten about it and let it lay.

Every once in a while, out of vanity, I do a search on my own name to see what I can see. Whenever I do this I have to exclude the words 'football', 'Dolphin', and 'Steelers', as there's a John Fiala who plays professional football, and he's more popular than I'll ever be.

So, I did that search today, and discovered it sitting here. So, why not: I'll try keeping a Journal for a while, and see how it goes.

As it happens, I'm lucky enough to have something to be proud of. Here in Denver there is a yearly anime convention called Nan Desu Kan. This year they're having a fanfiction panel, and I've been chosen as part of the panel. That would be interesting enough, but one of my co-panelists is Krista Perry, one of the great lights of the fanfiction world.
