More on weight...
Mar. 28th, 2003 05:51 pmToday when I got to work there were Krispy Kreme donuts sitting in the kitchen. I steadfastly ignored them, put my lunch (Chicken Parmesian with veggie chicken patties) in the fridge, grabbed a spoon, got some water, and left.
I've got a good reason for ignoring them - 45.6 pounds. That's a huge amount of weight, and I'm really starting to notice how I look. I'm wearing some of my 'fat' pants - this is a pair of kakhi slacks with elastic in the waist. They're huge! I can put my hands in my pants and flap them out about two or three inches.
I went into the bathroom here at work. At home we don't have much in the way of large mirrors - just the one over the sink, and that's small. But the bathroom mirror starts at counterheight and goes up to the ceiling, and is the width of the wall there, so I got a good look at my ass. And there is definately less of me back there than there used to be.
45.6 pounds - that's a child. That's a seriously big dog, one of those 'toss a steak' to ones you see in bad crime dramas. I don't know if I could go around carrying that much weight throughout my day, but I used to.
It's also 1/4th of what I'm supposed to lose - 180 pounds. I wasn't sure before if I could lose that much - half of my weight. But I think I can now. It's been about 14 weeks so far - what's another year to get down to a good weight?
Other people can have the donuts. I'm too busy changing my life.
