On nearing the end of a job...

Hmm...

I'd become more and more dissatisfied with my current job... and recently it got to the point where I started looking for a new job. And I found one, faster than I thought I would.

I'm going to be doing web and drupal development in php/javascript for a company named pingVision in Boulder. It'll be a long commute from downtown out to Boulder, but I can do a lot of it on the bus - which will be nice for reading time, at least.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a lot of reading to do...

welcome!

Welcome! We'll have to see what we can do about a livejournal2drupal migration for your blog ;)

Hmmm.

That's not a bad idea. I'll have to start noodling around with it.

Of course, with livejournal being an RSS-capable entity, I suspect there's already an RSS reader in drupal.

Um. What's 'drupal'?

Drupal (www.drupal.org) is a php-based Contact management system that's all open source and stuff. it's been written to be very extensible - I'm reading through a good book on it now to learn just how extensible it is.

I didn't realize you lived in Colorado. I used to live in Boulder and work in Denver. For part of that time, I lived close to a Park-n-Ride, which made the commute more manageable.

Looks like pingVision's office is very close to Pearl Street Mall, just a few blocks from the Boulder Bookstore. I miss that bookstore.

Say "hi" to the Zip Code Man for us.

It is very close, which is one of the reasons I'm fond of it. And yes, the Boulder Bookstore (and attached coffeehouse) is very cool, and I look forward to losing some time in it in the future.

I have no idea who the Zip Code Man is, but perhaps I'll find out.

I don't remember where I know you from, I'm afraid...

The Zip Code Man is one of the entertainers that used to frequent Pearl Street Mall. Hopefully he still goes there.

We met through KGB. I went to one or two of your anime get togethers. I really don't have too many public pictures on the web; you might recognize some of the people here http://kevincooney.home.mindspring.com/photos/dinner04272002/001.JPG (I'm the guy with the leather jacket). Hopefully I'll see you at the KGB reunion.
