The Week of Stress
Dec. 15th, 2005 10:12 amSo, what with one thing and another it's been The Week Of Stress. I've already mentioned Tammy losing her job during the happiest time of the year, and didn't bring up all the trouble involved with plumbers and replacing our water heater.
I am not upset at our old water heater for giving up the ghost - when we moved into our house five years ago, the inspector took a look at the water heater, and told us we'd have to replace it in a year. Since it only gave up the ghost last Friday, we got more than our money's worth out of it. But it's still expensive to replace, and this wasn't helped by the first plumber we contacted almost bilking us out of an extra $500 to replace it, something we only just caught before any major work was done. We ended up getting the work done by Lowes, but unfortunately that got screwed up by the people installing it forgetting to actually Turn It On first. And even with all the documentation, we weren't able to figure it out ourselves. Sigh.
So, this morning i finally got to take a hot shower at home again.
And then, you know, gift stress. I try not to stress out, but then I don't pay attention to how time is going by, and then things might not ship in time. Rrrrr. God. And stress over this big project at work which I am finally dotting the t's and crossing the i's on, as the install of the code will not happen until the end of the year, and it's important to note down everything I will need to do to install it now so I remember it later.
So, all in all, it's been a week where I begin to understand why taking up drinking is so tempting to people. Sigh.
